James Gakuya is the TNA parliamentary candidate for Embakasi North Constituency. Mr Gakuya defeated his closest opponent Allan Maina by over 1500 votes. He was declared the winner at the Tom Mboya Primary School in Dandora.Others who contest for the TNA parliamentary party ticket for Embakasi North were Raphael Thimba and Mwangi Waititu.
Addressing his supporters after the victory, Mr Gakuya said that he would not disappoint them as they have showed great faith in him. "I thank you very much for what you have done today. I've said it during my campaigns and I repeat it here that I will not disappoint you," he said.
He also extended an olive branch to his opponents and asked them to join him in ensuring that TNA wins the Embakasi North Constituency.
Mr Gakuya previously served as the Muthurwa Ward Councillor in the just dissolved City Hall Local Government. It is also said that he once lived and worked in Dandora as a driver before going into politics.
Shortly after addressing his jubilant supporters, Mr Gakuya left for TNA elections coordination headquarters at Multimedia University. He was in the company of Dandora 1 TNA County Rep candidate Peter Wanyoike and Dandora 4 TNA County Rep candidate Moses Kamuri.
