TNA In Sweeping Victory In Dandora

MP-elect James Gakuya
The National Alliance (TNA) has registered a great victory in Dandora, going beyond the predictions of many political analysts. In the parliamentary contest, James Gakuya has won the Embakasi North with 31,590 votes against  ODM’s Joan Otieno who received 26,273 votes. Mr Gakuya also beat his fiercest rival in the TNA nominations Allan Maina. In the county wards, three out of the four wards of  Dandora have been taken by TNA, confining ODM to its traditional stronghold in Dandora ward 4.

In Dandora Ward 1, TNA's Peter Wanyoike won the seat after trouncing ODM's Bernard Mwangi and Samuel Mbugu (APK). Mr Mbugua decamped to APK after losing the contest for TNA ticket in the party primaries to Mr Wanyoike. In Dandora Ward 2, Stephen Kambi trounced five opponents including ODM's Richard Obae and Edward Chege (APK).

In Dandora Ward 3, Charles Thuo beat ODM's Beatrice Atieno by 7007 votes against 3465 votes. The seat was contested by four other aspirants including Virginia Wanja (APK) who obtained 341 votes in the race. Thuo succeeded Charles Atula who won the seat in the last general election. Atula did not defend his seat. In Dandora 4, TNA's Moses Kimaru fell victim to ODM's Daniel Oria Odhiambo.
In Kariobangi North, one of the five wards in Embakasi North, Michael Maina of TNA carried the day.

Despite the hot contests, elections remained largely peaceful throughout Dandora.
